Registering Users: Adding Users

There are two primary methods for adding users to your DigitalChalk organization: individual user creation and bulk import.
Adding Individual Users:
- Navigate to “Lead” > “Users”
- Click “Add User”
- Fill in required fields:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Password
- Complete any additional required fields you’ve created
- Click Save at the bottom of the page
- Optional: Check “Force user to update password at login” for security
- Click Roles from the context menu to set any additional user roles
- Course Administrator – Access to the Create and Lead tabs, for course creation, users, Gradebook and basic reports
- Organization Administrator – Access to organization-level settings and financial reports
- Click “Save”
Bulk Importing Users:
- Prepare a CSV file with user data (including headers)
- Go to “Lead” > “Users”
- Click the dropdown next to “Add User”
- Select “Import Users”
- Upload your CSV file
- Map CSV columns to DigitalChalk fields
- Ensure all required fields are mapped
- Click “Import Now”
- Monitor the bulk activity page for import status
- Check success/failure messages for details on imported users or errors

Important notes:
- Required fields must include first name, last name, email address, and password
- Custom fields can be included in the CSV with appropriate headers
- Administrative roles cannot be assigned during bulk import
- After a successful import, users can be viewed and edited on the Users page
