Automations: 1. Creating a Catalog Rule

To create a catalog rule in DigitalChalk:

  1. Navigate to the Manage menu
  2. Select “Catalog Rules” from the available options
  3. Click on “Add New Rule”
  4. Define the rule criteria:
    • Select the trigger event (e.g., user registration, course completion)
    • Specify the conditions that must be met
    • Choose the action to be taken when conditions are met in the Consequences section
  5. Set the rule priority if you have multiple rules
  6. Name your rule and provide a description
  7. Save the rule

Example of a catalog rule:

  • Trigger: New user with specific job role
  • Condition: User’s job role is “Sales Representative”
  • Action: Automatically enroll user in “Sales Basics 101” course

Remember to review and test your catalog rules to ensure they function as intended.
